Movers and Shakers
It's been a while I've been so taken up with the other blog that this one sort of got bypassed :)
This week we celebrated Eric's birthday and Eric even got a special rendition of Happy Birthday from Alex so pretty much think that, that surpasses any gift that he could have gotten. Alex is becoming more and more our little clown , he loves to put on an act and pretend he has no idea of what we are talking about, he's also perfected the hand gestures to go with it. He's all excited with the idea of birthdays and presents, he wants to know whose birthday is next, when will it be his turn and of course lets us know what he would like - a bicycle that is about the one consistent thing on his list. He will get the bicycle not the spiderman one that he wants but perhaps the spiderman helmet.
We took him to buy his birthday present to Claire the other day, he insisted that it be a big Strawberry Shortcake ball. It's sad that the Strawberry Shortcake is no longer the red and white color that she once was but is instead too many shades of pink. I remember having the entire set of glasses, plates & bowls in plastic AND glass !!! When we got home I told him we had to hide it and that we would wrap it up for her, this concept he had a hard time with :)
We've finally finished buying her presents, we went from having no clue to instead buying 3 different things for her (excluding the ball) there are two things that we know she'll love, the jury is still out for the third item. We did get girly toys for her, she's surrounded by Alex's toys and much prefers to play with cars than anything else, oh and the space man from Alex's spaceship. We have nothing wrong with her playing with 'boys' toys, I remember having a Scalextric set when I was younger :) However we also want to provide her with the opportunity to play with 'girls' toys and also for Alex as well to be exposed - though we highly suspect that he will like two of her presents and this could be a potential challenge.
Hard to believe that she will be one in 2weeks, time does fly when you are having fun. She's more determined to walk now and this Saturday she decided to find a new use for her chair click here to see what she did , excuse my "screaming" at Alex, playing football right where she decides to walk is not really the best idea but he's three so he's forgiven :)
Spring I think has finally decided to make an appearance and its a welcome change !!!! Looking forward to spending more time outside with Alex and Claire.
See you soon :)
